ALLEN "BUZZ" CHATTIN ALLEN "BUZZ" CHATTIN
He was born Ma rch 26, 1930, in Merri ll, Wisc. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1948 and enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served in Korea in 1952-53. In 1953, he marr ied his childhood sweetheart, Vida Munderloh. They had three daughters: Ann, born at Camp LeJuene, N.C.; Jeanne, born after a move to Great Lakes Naval Base near Chicago ; and Kate who was born after a move to Twentynine Palms, Calif. After several years in Southern California, including a 13-month assignment in Okinawa for Mr. Chattin, the family moved to San Bruno, Calif. In 1968, Mr. Chattin finished a 20-year career He moved his family to Redding where he loved to fish for steelhead, hunt and garden. After 24 years with the Food and Nutrition Service, Mr. Chattin retired from his second career and moved to Montana. He moved to Kalispell, Mont., in 1993 where he volunteered in his community and at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He devoured books by the hundreds, continued to hunt, fish, cross-country ski, golf and spend time with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Vida; daughters Ann Guerri, Jeannie Gandler and Kate Meredith; sons in-law Franco Guerri and Scott Gandler; grandchildren Alex and Melissa Guerri, Joe Guerri, Becca Gandler, Matthew Gandler and Gabriel Meredith; sister, Etta; and several brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Lutheran Camp, Arrangements are being handled by Joh nson– Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
