Those very industrious Coffee Creek Fireflies will hold one of their famous pancake breakfasts from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at t he CC Fire Hall. Breakfast is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 8.

The 34th annual North Lake Lions Club Installation and Awards Banquet was held June 25 w ith Brian Bogdanich, president-elect, presid i ng. Lions were each asked to na me a different club service project. Ken R ieke was selected Lion of the Yea r in recognit ion of h is outstanding service to the community. Congratulations, Ken! Many others received awards and recognition.

Is cleaning the garage, the basement a nd the closet on your list of summer activities? Good! We have a perfect solution for all your useful castoffs. The Second Bi-Annual TCVF D Aux i liary Yard Sale will be held the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5. Robin Reilly and her crew will be collecting the community’s items from now until the sale. Call her at 266-3302 and leave a message.

The Coffee Creek Com munity is ver y excited to welcome back Bill and L isa Loucks who have been living in Susanville t he past four years. Bil l retu rns to Coffee Creek School as the upper-grade teacher where he was much beloved. L i sa has retired from dog grooming and has just been hired by Trinity Hospital as an LVN. Bill started the loca l Trinity Center-Coffee Creek Little League team and served as an EMT. A l ready Bill has preached three sermons at Coffee Creek Communit y Church and Lisa provided solo spiritual music. Welcome home.

Local youth are engaged in enriching summer activities. Leean na and Sa mantha Dunham begin a six-week program, Trio Upwa rd Bound, at Hu mboldt State University where t hey wil l ta ke college courses. Leah Groves w ill be a staffer at 4H camp. Six kids will be attending Kidder Creek Christian Camp. Several teens are working throughout the communities at Jaktri, the Mini Kat, the KOA and assisting some of us oldsters with yard projects.
