      This letter is to inform those of you who have taken it upon themselves to question my residency in Trinity Center. I have been married to Nina Lauerman for 25 years and her family has been in Trinity Center since 1954. Her grandfather, Arthur Dean, grew up in Trinity Center.

One government funding solution
      All levels of government are short of funding. Cutting programs that are in place seems too difficult for our elected representatives. Borrowing is maxed out for all or soon will be except the Fed which can print more money and reduce debt by inflation.

Term limits can only benefit country
      Suppose someone offered you a job with a $174,000 salary. You'd have a full staff, limos at your disposal, and a generous expense account. If you want a raise, you just grant yourself one. You'd also get government-subsidized health and life insurance. You can retire a millionaire. Annual pensions run as high as $125,000, sometimes more.

Plea for more local AFS families, help
      As a local volunteer for the American Field Service, I am writing with a plea that more families will consider becoming AFS host families for high school students from abroad. I have long been proud of our community for embracing our high school student exchange program.

Accountability on burnouts
      In last week's Trinity Journal articles entitled "Burnouts brought mixed reviews" and "Debate rages on over firefighting" Arlen Cravens stated that Shasta-Trinity officials shared with incident commanders the desire that the fires should be low-intensity.

Blue Barn deserves congrats
      There has been some discussion in The Trinity Journal about the Golden Age Center's Blue Barn. Now it's my turn to add my two cents worth! I visited the Blue Barn last week and what a surprise. I could go through the racks so easily and the used clothing was in such good shape. The merchandise on the shelves was even displayed so it could easily be seen.

Joy at improved Blue Barn
      I would like to thank all of the people involved in improving the Blue Barn. It has become a clean and well-organized place to shop. The volunteers are hard working, very friendly, and helpful when looking for something specific. It is a joy to shop there.
