Caltrans road work
      Caltrans has the following projects scheduled in Trinity County through Friday, June 19: On Highway 3, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, bridge work from 3 miles north of Peanut to 5.1 miles south of the Trinity/Siskiyou county line. One-way traffic control may be in place with up to an eight-minute delay.

Missing boy found safe
      A report of a missing 11- year-old from Weaverville spurred the beginnings of a large-scale search Monday afternoon, but the youth was located unharmed, said Trinity County Undersheriff Eric Palmer.

Grants for 2 Trinity water projects
      Two federal economic stimulus grants have been awarded for water treatment projects in Trinity County. The Weaverville Community Services District has been awarded a $495,000 grant for a project at its West Weaver Treatment Plant. Preliminary Census work finished
      U.S. Census workers have completed preliminary address canvassing work in Trinity County and the North State, according to Ford Carlberg, director of the Santa Rosa Early Census Office. The actual 2010 Census count will be conducted in spring of 2010, Carlberg said.

Dredging moratorium bill moves forward
      A bill to put a moratorium on suction dredge mining in California streams until an environmental review is completed has passed the state Senate and is in the Assembly. SB 670 passed out of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife on Tuesday on a vote of 11-0.
