Einar L. Lono Einar L. Lono, a 2003 graduate of Hayfork High School, received his bachelor's degree in applied technology from Humboldt State University on May 16. The ceremony was held at Redwood Bowl on the university campus.
Einar's parents, Erik and Debra Lono of Hayfork, and grandmother, Elise Lono of Redding, traveled to Eureka on Friday, where the family was joined by Einar's brother, Tor Lono of Dallas, Laura and Lisa Marchi of Galt, Calif., Karen Gillentine of McKinleyville and a number of Einar's closest friends for a dinner party at the Sizzler in Eureka.
Just prior to the ceremony, the family was surprised to see Analisa Lono, Einar's sister, who had been in Berlin, Germany, on a business trip but was able to fly home just in time to see Einar graduate.
After the ceremony, Einar's family and friends gathered at his home for a graduation party, where about 40 people raised their glasses to toast him for his hard work and accomplishments. Guests included Sara (Eisen) Rene-Dozier and new son Avery, Tim, Shawna and Brion Gillentine (formerly of Hayfork).
Einar is now employed by HSU, where he is involved in two large construction projects: a new dormitory complex and a new athletic complex on the HSU campus.
