Planet faces 'Deep Impact' peril January's letter from Kenneth C. Baldwin struck several chords for me, not only his parting message but also his third paragraph, where it seemed like he'd read my mind regarding "my agenda," which is simply to help save the Earth, and all life on it. I know this sounds egomaniacal, and to some it might sound like I'm assuming the role of a "false prophet," but contrary to Christian belief it is possible to see the future; I am an ex-Remote Viewer and the immense juggernaut that I've seen coming is far worse than any current situation, except perhaps to religious nutcases who, seeing this future event as the return of their murderous god to pronounce Judgement on us all, would rather roll over in supplication and let it happen because they see this world as evil and they're so desirous of their fantastic Rapture. These people would oppose any efforts to defend our planet because they would see such efforts as opposing their god. For those of you who believe that a god created this planet for us (somewhat egotistical thinking, but understandable), consider this: wouldn't it make more sense to think a benevolent Creator would want us to do everything in our power to protect our home and all the creatures which Deity created, even if just "for us"? Years before the film "Deep Impact" was released I knew what was coming, but time and again I was told "So there's nothing we can do about it, stop letting it worry you." So I learned everything I could about history, geology, archeology, astronomy and cosmology, physics, biology, the social sciences as well as the Earth sciences, the examination of ancient maps and documents including the Bible, and more, and everything I learned or relearned strengthened my conviction that a massive comet is on a Earth-crossing orbit. So, though it was a work of fiction, the film "Deep Impact" accurately depicts what a much smaller object than the one I see coming could do to this planet, though it lacks realism in depicting the actual process of preventing a cometary impact. And again, though it is a work of fiction, the film "Contact" depicts what religious zealots might do to sabotage efforts to save our planet, and I believe appropriate steps should be taken to neutralize this type of threat. That's it in a nutshell. I've previously sent a more detailed paper to President Obama, members of Congress, governors, and as many members of the media (U.S. newspapers, television and radio stations, etc.) as I could find e-mail addresses for, hoping someone would take notice. But I suspect they think I'm just another nutcase.
