Construction contracting workshop offered
The Shasta College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering free workshops entitled "California Construction Contracting: Business Connections Module" on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 20 and 21, in the Shasta College Health Sciences and University Center at 1400 Market St. in downtown Redding. Among the topics are how to bid and win contracts; barriers to entry or "deal-breakers" in doing business with non-responsive subcontractors; effectively navigating the Caltrans Web site to identify upcoming contracting opportunities; project and bidding specifications and associated bid conferences and job-walk dates; and upcoming projects to be advertised for bid in the local Caltrans district.
