Sheriff's Report The Trinity County Sheriff's Department received the following reports from Dec. 22 to 29: Dec. 22 Caller reports subject stayed at her house for several days and is threatening and harassing her. She adds that he is on his way to his daughter's house to pick up marijuana and transport it. She says she was the victim of domestic violence but won't cooperate with an investigation. Caller whose home burned reports a missing Chesapeake/ Labrador retriever she thinks got out of the house. Animal control officer speaks to owner of 75 cattle regarding a few that are thin and need to be separated for feeding and worming. Caller reports being harassed and stalked. Hayfork woman reports neighbors coming on her property and threatening her boyfriend who they think killed a dog. Weaverville woman reports her Social Security number was used to obtain four credit cards. 911 hang-up from Trinity Center with yelling in the background. Upon re-contact a female says this was verbal and her husband is leaving. Six medical calls. Dec. 23 Hayfork caller reports her husband punched her several times in the face. Husband says she threw him on the ground first. Contacted by officer, neither wish to prosecute or cooperate. Wife itaken to hospital after suicidal statements. Burnt Ranch man reports screws have been placed in his tire several times since he evicted tenants. Hayfork man reports his dog was shot. Animal control offi- cer had heard complaint from neighbor about dogs killing livestock. Caller reports suspect makes unwanted passes at her and follows her around. Caller reports she received an eviction notice Dec. 19 and was locked out Dec. 23. Advised to contact marshal regarding the civil matter. Weaverville woman reports pit bull attempted to attack her daughter and her friend. Female fell into a bonfire and burned her hand and arm. She's taken to the emergency room. Man and woman reported to be causing problems in Weaverville. Related call from CHP reports a pickup into a tree at Mountain View and Main Street. An arrest is made for DUI. Loud music and yelling and minors possibly drinking in Hayfork. Two medical calls. Dec. 24 Victim bitten by a dog she did not see in the dark. To be started on rabies treatment. Animal control officer speaks to dog owner regarding pit bull chasing a neighbor. Report of a man whose vehicle is stuck in snow in Mad River. Had texted ex-wife saying he needed rescue or would die. Officer finds that he was not stuck but wanted someone to bring him chains so he could pick up his girlfriend. Weaverville caller reports persons allowed to stay in a trailer for a couple days now refuse to leave. Vandalism to a vehicle parked in Wildwood that was stripped and burned. Theft of power. Three reports of persons setting off fireworks. Two medical calls. Dec. 25 Security officer reports two men with dogs and shotguns sitting in chairs on Trinity Dam. Officer reports the men have left. Adult male reported to be looking into cars in Weaverville. He's contacted by an officer for information. Officer reports no crime committed. Smoke alarm and smell of burning wires at Junction City Post Office. Vehicle accident east of Salyer Store. Neighbor of Weaverville caller shooting a high powered firearm in a no-shooting zone. Injured peacock sitting by the road. Elderly man slamming doors, hitting caller and breaking things. He's transported to the hospital. Caller reports she broke up with her boyfriend and he tried to strangle her and took the phone away before she got away. An arrest is made for domestic violence. Two medical calls. Dec. 26 Hayfork man reports letter with death threats from unknown suspect sent from Visalia. Caller wishes DNA or fingerprint testing, and hangs up when told how difficult that would be. Weaverville woman reports male walking around her yard refusing to leave. An arrest is made and subject is taken to the hospital for mental health evaluation. In Hawkins Bar, caller advises he and his wife are in their 90s and snowed in. Hawkins Bar Fire Department called to check on them and assist as needed. Caller reports ongoing problem with mother's boyfriend verbally abusing them. Animal control officer takes a dog due to the owner's failure to care for the animal which was tangled and unable to move. Dog in Lewiston bitten by fox. Lewiston woman locked out of her house requests fire department aid. Fire department advises it cannot assist. Disturbance of the peace at a Weaverville bar. Three medical calls. Dec. 27 Douglas City man reports harassment by his landlord who cussed at him, and says somebody nailed a three-day eviction notice to his door. It is found to be a civil matter. Mad River caller reports via 911 that his cat is missing and he suspects his neighbors of killing it. Report is determined to be unfounded. Free range horses that broke into a shed and ate all the hay. Call turned over to the animal control officer for follow-up. Douglas City man reports trespassing and threats. Both parties advised to have only civil contact. Caller from Douglas City reports domestic violence and child abuse. Caller from Longs Drugs reports a vagrant refused to leave. Second caller reports he is going through garbage cans. Lewiston man reports seven to nine shots fired. Nine medical calls. Dec. 28 Red Bluff man unable to contact his friend in Hayfork. Contact is made; phones were out due to the weather. Report of a missing woman who had been following her husband in a truck on Highway 36 headed for Chico. Call is turned over to another county. |
