The passing of Melvin Fredrickson of Hayfork Mountain was probably not noticed by many. In his latter years his many health problems weighed heavy upon him and it had become very dificult to get around. I knew him as his employer and fellow Vietnam veteran and could relate to the many problems that followed him until the end. More ... We would like to say thank you to Sierra Pacific for the opportunity to get free wood from their property. A letter last week to Feedback by a Douglas City resident left me puzzled. The writer states that she is saddened by the passage of Proposition 8. Well, a majority of the citizens choosing to pass Proposition 8 shows that a higher percentage believes that marriage is for a man and a woman to be joined together. More ... At a place called Stafford's Crossing, there was a store and small settlement during the Gold Rush. Now there's nothing but a few old apple trees and one of the largest and most beautiful English walnuts in Trinity County. On the grassy meadow the scenery is fantastic. More ... |
