Sheriff's Report The Trinity County Sheriff's Department received the following calls from Aug. 11 to 17. Aug. 11 - A caller reports the passenger side door of his truck was kicked in at the Lowden Park Little League Field. A Big Bar caller reports his child was bitten by a dog while at his mother's house; the animal control officer contacts the owner of the dog, which has had its shots, to notify her that the dog must be quarantined. A Lewiston caller reports her friend's ex-boyfriend is intoxicated and causing a disturbance at the RV park, possibly in a stolen vehicle; the CHP responds and makes an arrest for vehicle theft. A rape is reported. A caller reports a suspect threatened to shoot him after a verbal dispute about the suspect and his father going on the caller's property. A Redding caller reports three teens went camping and had not returned at 7:19 p.m. although they were supposed to be back in the early afternoon; an officer reports back that the trio was walking out of the trailhead as the offi- cer arrived. A Hayfork caller reports four males drove by stating they were going to "take care" of him and his cousin. A Lewiston woman reports domestic violence, then the phone goes dead; she has left the scene when an officer arrives and the officer reports a male was hit in the head, possibly with a crow bar; later, the Trinity Hospital emergency room reports the woman is at the hospital and has been beaten up; she refuses to speak to the officer. A felony assault is reported. There are two calls for medical aid. Aug. 12 - A broken window is reported at the juvenile hall. A Hayfork woman reports three males and one female smoking marijuana next to the school; they are admonished. The ACO speaks to a Weaverville woman about leaving her cats at her last residence; she agrees to catch them and bring them to the shelter. The ACO also speaks to a woman regarding quarantining her dog, which nipped a neighbor's child. A caller reports a fire on the Trinity River at Burnt Ranch; it turns out to be a hot spot within containment lines. A Weaverville woman reports persons in a van "casing" Easter Avenue; they turn out to be door-to-door solicitors and are admonished. There are two calls for medical aid. Aug. 13 - A Mad River man reports two males in a pickup acting suspicious and looking for scrap metal. A caller reports finding a gold and diamond bracelet. A bank reports forged checks. The ACO speaks to a Hayfork man regarding his barking dogs. A Salyer man reports his neighbor pointed a gun at him, said he was going to shoot him and turned off his power; an officer finds that this was a civil issue and the weapon was not brandished. There is one call for medical aid. Aug. 14 - A Trinity Center caller reports a man who appears to be in distress. A Covington Mill woman reports a transformer blew and caught trees on fire. A Hayfork man reports a juvenile was told several times to leave the property and was just there with a wrist rocket. A Junction City woman reports two males said they were going swimming and she advised them it was a private pond and they left; she reports that she has their poles and will not give them back until the next day when witnesses are present; she continues that she believes they have been drinking and they are headed toward Weaverville. There is one call for medical aid. Aug. 15 - An arrest is made for public intoxication. Medical aid is requested for a man who fell from a logging truck. A dog bite victim is reported in Lewiston. A Weaverville caller says he was run over by a male in a wheelchair; an officer finds that there were no injuries and this was in retaliation for a reported theft. Medical aid is dispatched for a rafter with a neck injury. A Weaverville man requests assistance with a deer with a broken leg in the back of his garage; the deer is dead when an officer arrives. A caller reports domestic violence involving her aunt; an officer finds that the alleged victim has no observable injuries and makes no statement regarding domestic violence, and she is advised of HRN services. There are four calls for medical aid. Aug. 16 - A Hayfork man reports a contractor working through the Forest Service has been starting equipment at 2 and 3 a.m.; the Forest Service is called and will try to solve the problem. A Weaverville woman reports a man yelling and cursing. A Zenia man reports four men in two vehicles drove onto his property and yelled and called him names and flipped him off. A Hayfork woman reports she was in the hospital and $40 was missing when she got back. A Hayfork caller reports her son trying to kill her husband; an officer reports there are minor scratches and the caller and victim don't want to press charges. A Salyer woman says a tree came down on a pole next to a residence and a phone line came down, and part of the tree is resting on a power line. A Lewiston man reports a man lying in a ditch on Deadwood Road; a deputy makes an arrest for public intoxication and possession of burglary tools. A caller reports a male with a gunshot wound that may have been self-inflicted west of the junction of Highways 3 and 36; he is deceased. There are three calls for medical aid. Aug. 17 - A Hayfork caller reports an assault at a business, saying she was struck with a refrigerator door. Domestic violence in which water was thrown is reported. A Weaverville caller reports her 13-year-old daughter was grabbed by the arm and neck, leaving marks. A Lewiston woman reports people having a party, yelling and honking horns. There are seven calls for medical aid.
