Church benefit concert planned to fight cancer

The Weaverville Church of the Nazarene will hold a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Lee Fong Park Amphitheater to raise money to fight cancer.

Ray Benesh and the Yuba City Nazarene Band will perform classic rock, country and worship songs. The Weaverville Church of the Nazarene Band will perform rock/contemporary Christian music. There will be treats and goodies to buy, and raffle tickets to purchase. Admission is $5; children 12 and under get in free. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at the church office.

In September, the Church of the Nazarene will participate in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life to take place at Weaverville Elementary School. The goal of the relay is to raise awareness about cancer-related issues while raising money to help fight the disease.
