Due to the scheduled firefighters memorial service, the Soroptimists have changed the date of their annual golf tournament. Their tournament is now scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, at Trinity Alps Golf Course. This is a fun event with prizes for all levels of expertise. The ticket price of $60 includes breakfast, lunch, and beverages and snacks on the course. More ... The Weaverville/Douglas City Parks & Recreation District is preparing for the co-ed flag football season. There will be three divisions of play this year: Pee Wee - grades kindergarten through second. JVs - grades third through fifth. Varsity - grades sixth through eighth.
