About Our Schools We are very pleased to welcome Deborah Hansen, the new principal at Hayfork Elementary School, this year. Deborah joins the Mountain Valley District most recently from Alaska and, prior to that, from Monterey County. Also in Hayfork, the high school has a new part-time teacher, Shaelene Bayley, who will provide support for online classes for four periods each day. Tim Vergason is the new maintenance person for Hyampom school. Welcome! The new Trinity Alps School District in Weaverville will welcome back teachers to Weaverville Elementary School, Trinity High School and Trinity Alps Continuation School with a new interim superintendent, Ed Traverso. Welcome to Trinity County, Ed! Burnt Ranch has a new Superintendent, Sarah Supahan, and two new teachers. Deborah Ownbey will teach physical education and Rudy Breuning will be teaching K-2. Both Deborah and Rudy will share the job of after school coordinator. Southern Trinity High School has a new math teacher, Daniel Huddleston. Van Duzen Elementary School, in the same district, will also have a new after school coordinator, Katie Duarte, and a new instructional aide, Jeanette Rolff, for the elementary grades. Becky Rose will be the new K-1 teacher at Junction City School. Jonathan Boulden has been hired as an instructional aide for grades 2-3 and Candee Hodson is the new AmeriCorps volunteer for the Junction City After School Program. Douglas City School is pleased to welcome Kari Kennedy to the staff as the instructional aide for grades 4-5. AmeriCorps aides Rebekah Fitzwater and Lisa Gibson will work with the Douglas City After School Program. Andrea Waite is a former Douglas City School student working on her teaching credential who will be volunteering at the school as an instructional aide and cheerleading coach through the first semester. Way to go, Andrea! Coffee Creek is pleased to welcome Laura Umpierre, the new teacher for grades 3- 8 and Brandy Barcelos, the new preschool assistant. Cox Bar School and community welcomes Peter Harrison as the new K-3 teacher. The Trinity County Office of Education extends a very warm welcome to Kathy Blodorn who will serve the special education students at Hayfork Elementary School and Kevin Bloyd, an adaptive physical education teacher for students in Hayfork, Cox Bar and Weaverville. Patti Stuart is a special education resource teacher who will be working out of the county office to serve students in Coffee Creek, Trinity Center, Burnt Ranch and Cox Bar. Lewiston Elementary School has rearranged staff assignments with the same teachers, but Lewiston gets the prize for an employee with the longest job title. Cheryl Arnold is the Lewiston bus driver/custodian/ instructional aide/head cafeteria/ playground supervisor. |
