Healing Arts scholarship Time is running out to apply for the $500 Hawthorn Scholarship that will be given by Trinity Alliance for the Healing Arts this year. Applicants who wish to further their career or education in healing arts fields must be age 18 or older and living in Trinity County. The application deadline is July 31. The Hawthorn Scholarship was named in honor of Lillian Godbe, who was a member of TAHA and a wellknown herbalist in Trinity County. The hawthorn was Godbe's favorite and most therapeutic herb. Bethany Holthaus of Moon Blossom Herbs was the first recipient of this scholarship in 2007 and used it to purchase books and products to start her business. The scholarship winner will be announced at the Healing Arts Fair on Oct. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Weaverville. To obtain an application, contact Sue Bateman at 623-3283. |
