Congratulations, Trinity County voters, it looks like we will have another chance to get a vitally needed and reasonable increase in the Transient Occupancy Tax from 5 percent to 10 percent. If we'll all give it just a moment's thought, we'll get it right this time and pass the increase. More ... To attempt to create controversy where none exists and to defame one of our fine local institutions seems very self-serving and mean-spirited to me. JUNCTION CITY Breakfast is served on the weekends at Johnson's Steakhouse and unfortunately for us, this coming weekend will be their last. Simply, not many people are partaking. In the beginning it was a rough start but they managed to turn it around and now serve a breakfast a standard above the local fair. It is too bad we will lose this quality. More ... We had a great turnout for the Weaverville Lions Club Cribbage Tournament on July 5. There were 52 participants. People came together to have fun and forget about the fears and smoke, if only for a couple of hours. More ...
