Eagle Fire threatens

Mandatory Evacuations in Junction City

The Sheriff's Department late Thursday afternoon, July 17, declared mandatory evacuations in Junction City for the following areas: Coopers Bar Estates, Red Hill Road, Dutch Creek Road, Evans Bar and Soldier Creek, due to the Eagle Fire. Residents are being asked to leave through Dutch Creek Road and out to Highway 299. 

The Red Cross Shelter is open in Weaverville at the Weaverville Elementary School on Highway 3 North. 

People needing shelter for their animals can go to the Trinity Animal Shelter at 563 Mountain View in Weaverville.
