Ringing in the 4th of July

by PHIL NELSON

Always a favorite way to celebrate the 4th of July, the bell ringing brings together young and old in a tradition that got started during the U.S. Bicentennial celebration.

Bells of all sizes--big, small and in between--were rung by the patriotically dressed crowd, including Brad Miller (left) at the Bandstand on the corner of Main and Court Streets.
