Mountain Magic this Friday

Mountain Magic Friday

Historic downtown Weaverville will light up this Friday, Nov. 29, for its old-fashioned Mountain Magic Christmas celebration to include strolling musicians and carolers, hot drinks, baked goods, roasted chestnuts and a visit from Santa.

Santa is set to arrive at the Weaverville Bandstand at 1 p.m. when he’ll be available to take orders from all the children come rain or shine.

The evening’s festivities will begin at 5 p.m. at the Bandstand where the Christmas tree lighting will take place. Merchants and art galleries will have extended hours, to 8 p.m., to display their holiday wares and decorations.

Performers will include strolling musicians and carolers following the opening music at the bandstand.

Special treats will include roasted chestnuts and other treats, hot drinks and baked goods. Santa’s workshop craft fair will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. at the “HUB” between Main Street Gallery and Angela’s Bead Art.

The Lions Club and Alex Flores are sponsoring a Toy Drive. Bring a toy, receive a raffle ticket, win a prize, delivered to the HUB on Friday, Nov. 29, and to Angela’s Bead Art through the duration of the drive.
