The annual fireworks spectacular took place Friday, July 5, at Weaverville Elementary School. The 12-minute display brought plenty of oohs and aahs from the crowd.

Sponsored by the Weaverville Chamber of Commerce, the Independence Day fireworks costs the chamber roughly $8,000 each year and relies on donations from businesses and the community. Donations may be made at any time of the year and should be mailed to Weaverville Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 345, Weaverville, CA 96093; or dropped off at the Trinity County Visitors Center, 509 Main St., Weaverville.
