Once again the whole family is invited for an afternoon of apple fun at the 2nd annual Apple Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Young Family Ranch in Weaverville.
There will be a lot of fun, apple-related activities. Festival goers will be able to learn how an apple cider press is used, taste a variety of apples, make an apple craft, play games and drink hot apple beverages.
People may also submit an apple pie into the apple pie contest for a chance to win this year’s bragging rights for “Best Apple Pie in Trinity County 2018.” Those interested in entering the contest should contact Maggie Alvord at 623-3746, ext. 3 or Amanda Colegrove at 623-3746, ext. 2, by 5 p.m., Oct. 17. Pies will need to be made using your own recipe (from scratch), freshly baked, and brought to the Young Family Ranch between 10:30 a.m. and noon Saturday, Oct. 20.
