Worlds apart

The Kingdom of Glenfair series

A book signing for two new books by Robin Simmons (“The Adventures of Pi,” and “Pi’s Future Adventure”) will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at Tammie’s Books, 106 Main St., Weaverville.

Simmons grew up in Modoc County in Northern California. It was in the North State that most of his exploration and adventures have taken place that set the foundation for his books.

His goal in writing was to produce works of fiction that were family friendly. There is not as much clean fiction out there today as there used to be in generations past, he notes.

“It was important to me to write a wholesome story that taught the values of honor, sacrifice, and the consequences of our actions no matter how insignificant they may seem.

“I wanted to make the series adventurous, suspenseful, and one that would make you care deeply about the characters,” he said. “I am amazed at the age span of readers from 12 to 80 who enjoy the books.”

In addition to the Glenfair trilogy the story continues with two new books in the Pi adventures series that are an extension of the original Glenfair trilogy.

Parsell’s future journey

Also taking part in the book signing that day will be Judi Parsell, with her book “Worlds Apart, A Future Journey,” written and illustrated by Parsell.

The book is a fictional journey full of adventure, with a little romance, that is fast paced and full of scary situations the heroine experiences. There are thought-provoking twists and turns. “Worlds Apart, A Future Journey” is a great summer read. Parsell will be signing all purchased books.
