Dave Davis working with glass in fire to create his art at last year’s Artist in Action Festival along old town Weaverville’s Main Street.

The sidewalks of historic downtown Weaverville will come alive with artists and activities during the annual Artists in Action Festival which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

Conrad Gulch Ramblers will set the tempo on Angela’s Deck with dancing. More than 40 artists from the North State will demonstrate their art, including Batik, glass artists, metal artists, ceramic sculptors, quilting and crocheting. Jewelers will bend and pound silver into jewelry.

Award-winning painters Chuck Prudhomme, Debee Holland Olson, Susan Ferguson Greaves, Billy Andrews and others will paint the street. Watch graffiti artist Jamie Lizola and spray paint artist Angel create alternate universes. You can create a Batik painting, paint marbling a scarf, twist wire and glass beads into a spider, RAKU glaze and fire a ceramic piece, chalk the sidewalk, and paint a life-size self-portrait. Food will be offered in many locations.
