Bridge lighting, fireworks still on

The Lewiston Bridge Lighting & Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 27, in downtown historic Lewiston. Craft, food and game vendors can find information and forms at www.lewistonsparkies.com.

The Lewiston Sparkies will host this event totally outside. There will not be any indoor vendors or personal greetings with Santa due to COVID restrictions. The event will start at 4 p.m. Santa will be on hand to wave to the kids and helpers will pass out candy canes.

There will also be a Parade of Lights following the fireworks, and preceding Santa across the old one-lane bridge. More information to follow.

KIXE Holiday Auction set for November

The 2021 KIXE Holiday Auction will air at 7 p.m. Nov. 3-6 and 10-13 on KIXE, channel 9. This is KIXE’s largest annual fundraising event, with proceeds supporting the day-to-day operations of the station.

Following the success of last year’s auction, this year’s show will again be pre-recorded, and registration and bidding will occur “online” at www.kixe.org/auction. A great feature of this format is that buyers are able to register, view the items, and place bids starting Oct. 3, well in advance of the show’s scheduled airing.

“This new format allows more people to participate in, and enjoy the auction,” General Manager Dave Cox said. “And, because of the continued support, and overwhelming generosity of our sponsors and donors, we are able to once again bring you another great auction I know you’ll enjoy.”

This year’s auction is sponsored by Weaverville White House, Crown Motors, Redding Rancheria, Sierra Pacific Foundation, Nor Cal Pacific Insurance Services, REU and Members 1st Credit Union.

For more information call 530-243-5493. You can also access the auction on the KIXE home page, www.kixe.org.
