Eternal vigilance required as ‘freedom is not free’
“Jim Bunning, Republican from Kentucky, filibusters bill for unemployment!” How many of you thought people on unemployment would be starving next week? How many of you knew the unemployment in question didn’t even start to go out until April? Did your information source leave out that detail and more? Interesting.

Supervisors drop ball on marijuana
The Los Angeles Times story of November 2009 was truly an embarrassment to Trinity County. Impressive Scouts, leaders
I had the privilege of being invited to an impressive Girl Scout event held in late February at the Weaverville Scout House. The day began with celebrating “World Thinking Day,” where each troop created a booth representing a country which has Girl Scout troops (called Girl Guides outside the USA).
