If so, the Gonpa welcomes the community along with Humboldt State University’s Religious Studies Department for a weekend of guided tours; teachings from Lama Padma Gyatso, the resident teacher at Rigdzin Ling; and volunteering with Rigdzin Ling staff.
The Chagdud Gonpa Rigdzin Ling Buddhist Retreat Center in Junction City celebrated a traditional Tibetan New Year, Losar celebration on Sunday, Feb. 14. All the whistles, bells, long horns, cymbals and drums appeared for the festivities at 1 p.m. with the ceremonial consecration and raising of more than 200 new prayer flags at the Stupa Spiritual Park. The prior count was 15.
Join the members of Chagdud Gonpa for their yearly prayer flag-raising ceremony at 1 p.m. Feb. 14. Members will raise more than 200 newly designed prayer flags by the Stupas and recite prayers of aspiration for the new year. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
