The Hayfork Library has reopened with new and later hours! They will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Two computers are available for public use. Face masks and social distancing are required.
The first flea market of 2021 will be this Saturday! It will be in the Fairgrounds parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first COVID Mask Egg Toss Competition will also take place, starting at 1 p.m. You will be able to register for the competition between noon and 12:45 p.m. during the flea market. Entry fees are $5 per child, $10 per teenager, and $20 per adult. The prizes will be $100 for the child, $500 for the teenager, and $1,000 for the adult winner.
There will also be a Trek 4 Trash this Sat., starting at 9 a.m. Meet across from the post office and wear a brightly colored shirt, long pants, and good shoes with long socks. Drinking water, snacks and everything else will be provided. For any questions, call 628-4206.
The Hayfork FFA is auctioning a metal framed bench made with boards from the HHS Gym bleachers. The highest bidder will also have the opportunity to have their name added to the bench. If you would like to place a bid, go to the Hayfork FFA Facebook page. The auction will end on the 14th at 3 p.m.
There will be a Seed and Plant Exchange at the Art Shop on the 16th from 3 to 5 p.m. It is Free. Bring pest-free, healthy plants for exchange, as well as a table or blanket to place your plants on.
The Hayfork Elementary School has some new Dynamite Readers! Congratulations to Miss Jodel Stanley, a second-grader in Mrs. Armagnac’s class; Miss Clementine Gossman, a fifth-grader, and Mr. Sean Rourke, a fourth-grader, both in Mrs. Stanley’s class; and Mr. Ty Rourke and Mr. Finnigan Wise-Rodrigues, both sixth-graders in Mr. Stadler’s class.
