The April show at the Highland Art Center features the artwork of students throughout Trinity County. K-12 public school kids as well as youngsters studying privately fill the gallery with artworks in various media and techniques. This popular exhibit is a high-water mark in the annual show schedule at the Highland Art Center.

Drop by the Highland at 691 Main St. in Weaverville and experience what our local up-and-coming artists have been up to and vote for your favorite piece for the Young Artist People’s Choice Award.

DEBEE HOLLAND-OLSON EXHIBIT: New works by Debee Holland-Olson will also be on display in the reception area at the Highland Art Center through the month of May. This focused show will feature works depicting the beauty of the Trinity Alps and other regional wonders. This special exhibit is not to be missed.

CALL OUT TO MIXED MEDIA ARTISTS: The Highland Art Center is now accepting submissions for the May Invitational Exhibit titled “Memories.” This show will feature mixed media and collage pieces that portray any person, thing or event that is deemed memorable. The subject and choice of materials is up to you to decide. Tell a story, honor a person, remind the viewer of an event recent or in the distant past. Deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 3. Show opens on Saturday, May 7, during the Art Walk.
