The Weaverville Chamber of Commerce is ready to start 2021 with a newly elected slate of board members and officers. Re-elected to the board and remaining in their current offices are Elizabeth Watson, president (EarthDance); Jean Lam, treasurer (Gold Rush Jewelers and Deadwood Trading Post); Karlyne Zaitz, sergeant at arms (Shear Delights). Incumbent board member and vice president is Teckla Johnson (Trinity Together).
Newly elected board member and secretary is Chriss Williams (Account Manager). Other newly elected board members are Amber Carman (The Water Bar) and Deidre Brower (Trinity River Consulting). Remaining on the board are Scott Watkins (Buildaberg), Julie Feely (Trinity County Arts Council) and Anna Carson (Trinity Together). There is currently one unfilled board position.
The chamber wishes to thank retiring board members Pat Zugg (Trinity County Visitor Center) and Jill Richards (Trinity County Arts Council) for their years of service with the chamber; and Jennifer Loomis, outgoing secretary, for taking on the roles of president and secretary during her tenure.
The chamber has survived a challenging year with the coronavirus pandemic and resulting shutdowns, and has developed some active committees to support businesses in this difficult time. COVID support was developed in collaboration with the Hayfork and Redding chambers of commerce. Shop Trinity, and Made in Trinity are newer, active committees.
The board continues to meet monthly via Zoom; the regular meeting date has been changed to the third Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. This meeting is open to the public and your feedback and involvement are welcome. If you wish to be added to the invite list, contact President Elizabeth Watson at email@example.com.
