High school football back in full force
Trinity opens with close loss to Yreka
      The Trinity High School Wolves opened their Division 3 title defense with a 24-17 loss at Yreka Friday night. The football game would see four lead changes and a tie before the Yreka Miners went ahead for good on a 22-yard TD pass from Dean Shafer to Dillon Dow with 1:58 left in the game.

Hayfork begins title defense Thursday
      The Timberjacks are ready to defend their NSCIF Division 6 title but it won’t be as easy this year for Hayfork High School’s eight-man football team. Coach Randy Harrison will have just two seniors this year after losing six players from last year’s senior-dominated team that went undefeated and virtually unchallenged.
